K-1-2 Field Trip
On May 10th, kindergarten, first, and second graders got to board the big Hyannis Longhorn bus for a field trip to the Riverside Zoo in Scottsbluff. It was a cloudy, rainy day when we left, but the rain stopped just in time for us to explore the zoo. Students saw familiar animals, as well as, some exotic ones. We followed the screech which led us to peacocks, but it was a roar that led us to the lions. We also saw snakes, birds, chimpanzees, tigers, a puma, a zebra, a moose, spider monkeys, a badger, a bearcat, and many ducks, geese, and goslings. Zoo personnel presented an educational program on animal body coverings. We got to see and touch a ferret, a baby alligator, and owl wings. We were eye to eye with a real baby horned owl.
Ask a kindergarten, first, or second grade student what they liked best about their trip. Some said it was the bus ride.
